Andrew Kehoe was an American mass murderer who is best known for perpetrating the Bath School disaster in 1927. The disaster involved a series of bombings at the Bath Consolidated School in Bath Township, Michigan, which resulted in the deaths of 38 elementary school children and six adults, as well as the injury of many others.
Kehoe was a school board treasurer and farmer in Bath Township, and he was known for his resentment towards taxes and his financial troubles. It is believed that Kehoe carried out the bombings as an act of revenge against the community for his personal grievances.
After the bombings, Kehoe committed suicide by detonating explosives in his truck, killing himself and several others. The Bath School disaster remains one of the deadliest acts of mass murder to occur at a school in United States history.
Andrew Kehoe's actions and the Bath School disaster have been the subject of numerous books, documentaries, and studies examining his motives and mental state leading up to the tragic events.
